“Portals: Part One - Intuition”
“A portal can physically or emotionally represent a door to another world. Physically, it may be a passageway or a passageway-like structure, as if you could step through it. Emotionally, it can be anything that takes you from one feeling to another.” - Gabi Abrao
Portals: Part One - Intuition engages with nature as a portal to intuition. Williams takes large, colorful lights on trance-like, meditative walks in nature and allows her intuition to make artistic decisions (color and placement of the lights, time of day, choosing the location, and how the images are framed). Actively collaborating with her intuition is a restorative ritual - it reorients the artists’ sense of time and space to imagine a new world charged with possibility. In this new world, the protagonist is an on-looker - an observer of the way their internal world interacts with and influences the outer world. This represents the experience of accessing and acting on intuition - a process of internal revelation that feels surreal and has the power to affect massive change in external reality.
